What does it take to earn an NC-17 rating with no nudity,
no sex and no real violence?
Try all the profanity South Park co-creator Trey Parker
could cram into "Orgazmo," his plotless, brainless and relentlessly tasteless
spoof of the porn industry. Parker -- who wrote, directed and stars in
the movie -- needs to learn some limits. The premise is as simple as it
is absurd: a squeaky-clean Mormon martial arts expert is preaching door
to door in Los Angeles when a sleazy porn producer (and martial arts expert)
gets him to play Orgazmo, a porno superhero who fights evildoers with his
Orgazmorator ray.
The movie has about as much of a plot as the skin flicks
it tries to spoof. There are some shock-value laughs to be had, but after
a short while the envelope Parker successfully pushes in South Park has
not only been broken but ripped up and thrown away, leaving the audience
numb. Unfortunately for Parker, the NC-17 rating means his humor's most
forgiving fans -- teenage boys -- won't even be let in the theater.
